He also brought in a poster of the Spruce Goose.
Aluminum Overcast, EAA’s B-17 was at the Eugene airport on 5/16-17 and several of our members helped out. Some even got a ride on the repositioning flight to Bend.
It was noted that Roseburg airport will have their “Wings and Wheels” event on July 6th from 9-5
It was noted that Corvallis will hose the Collins Foundations B-17, B-24 and P-51 as they sell flights this season. Head up there if you can.
Eugene will have their annual Run/Walk and airport day this weekend. There is mention of $1.00 off per gallon of Avgas for all who fly in. YE flights will also be given, so any pilot who would like to volunteer, please show up if you can.
The Creswell Air Fair will be on August 9-10-11 this year, with the big day Saturday the 10th. EAA Chapter 31 will be doing the breakfasts and lunches as usual. We should have an RV-12 and RV-14 at the event. South Lane RC Club asked if they could hold a meeting for all the local area RC clubs at the event.
President Bill Dewey then spoke about the memorial area. He was able to finish the propeller monument and now needs gravel for the picnic area. He noted that he and several others will be working on the culvert, retaining wall and general clean up this Friday from 9-10AM or so. He still needs a web jockey to handle the sales and processing for the bricks to go into the walkway. Ben Hallert, due to his not being present, was nominated, 2nded and duly elected to take on this challenge. Anybody going to tell him?
Dave Petersen reminded the group of the OPA convention in Albany this August 24th. He also asked Bill to take in the cardboard in the clubhouse for recycling, and Randy to take in the cans for a donation. As there was some controversy as to where the funds from these cans would go, a donation to the School Supply Fund at Hamlin Middle School was chosen as the beneficiary.
Next Chapter 31 breakfast will be June 15th. More Air Fair info will be available at that time.
Dave Eason brought in a A-10 Warthog shell casing for show and tell. Looks like 20 MM?
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:47 pm
