Meeting Minutes for the October 4th, 2017 Meeting

EAA Chapter 31 Meeting, October 4th, 2017

The dinner portion of the meeting started at 6:00 PM without our wonderful hosts Virgil and Bridget Pratt but with John and Ruth Kuehl stepping up. We had sloppy joes with coleslaw, chips, drinks and Cookies for only $5? Thanks again to. See you at the next dinner/meeting!!

The meeting started with the pledge of allegiance at 6:53 PM. President John Kuehl and Secretary/ Treasurer Randy Stout were present. The business and entertainment portion of the meeting was then called to order. There were 15 members and guests in attendance. The guests included Mark Solowinski, who is building a Wagabond; He lives in the area for 6 months and in Flagstaff for the rest of the year. The other guest was our speaker, Mike Pungercar.

Next Chapter breakfast is Saturday, October 21st. Come out to the clubhouse in the AM and pay $5 for an “all you can eat” breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, OJ, coffee and camaraderie!! Starts at 9:00 and runs to about 10:30 or so. Thanks in advance for all the
guys who show up and cook the meal!

President Kuehl asked for volunteers for the election committee. He got hands from Gary Ludeke and Rod Johnson, and volunteered himself as a third.

Gary Ludeke gave an RV-3 update. Painting is still the biggest topic, with a local body shop (Wright Body) being asked if they can help. We still plan to deliver it to the OAHS Museum in CG this spring. It will be all white with some decals.

Walter Weischedel has put out mouse bait and it appears to be very effective.

Treasurer Stout gave a Financial Report noting that the club now has a balance of $3437

It was noted that we should all go to WWW.atcnotforsale.com and register our opinion about keeping the ATC out of private hands.

With no other new or old business, Pres. John turned the meeting over to our speaker, Mike Pungercar. Mike is the founder of the local Honor Flight program, with several hundred veterans having made the trip to DC to date, and has written a book “The Promise Kept” about his fathers’ exploits as a crew member on a B-17 flying from England to Europe during the bombing of the Nazi’s. He put on a very good picture presentation of the daily activities of these bomber crews and fighter pilots. No one in the audience came away less than impressed with the courage and strength that these crews displayed during this awful time. Thanks Mike!!

There being no other business, President John then adjourned at 8:01 PM

respectfully submitted,
Randall Stout, Secretary/ Treasurer
