Oregon Air Tour

The Oregon Antique and Classic Aircraft Club will host the biannual Oregon Air Tour this year from July 17th thru 23rd. All flyers are invited to join OACAC and participate in this great biannual flying event.

At present, the tentative schedule is:
July 17th – OACAC quarterly meeting and tour registration at the OAHS hangar, Cottage Grove airport. RON
July 18th – To Tillamook; tour museum/lunch. ToManzanita/Yehelem Bay; welcom dinner; RON
(weather alternate: McMinnville)
July 19th – To Hoquim, WA; RON
(weather alternate: Chehalis, WA)
July 20th – To Prosser, WA; RON
July 21st – To LaGrand, OR; RON
July 22nd – To Madras, OR; End of tour dinner, awards, etc; RON
July 23rd – Return to home fields or meet at Sandy River for one final night out.

A meeting will be held at the Roseburg airport, hangar 2785 at 1:00pm, January 23rd, that will provide a presentation on the beginning history of the Oregon Air Tour followed by discussions concerning air tours of the more recent past.

Driving directions: I-5 exit 127. Southbound, turn left (east) at light after departing I-5. Travel east about 1/4 mile and turn right on Aviation Drive (Motel 6 on right). Go south on Aviation Drive about 1/2 mile and turn left at first set of gates into Airport hangar area. Code for both gates is 1973. Pass through both coded gtates and turn left Hangar 2785 is second one to your right.

Flying: Landing Rwy 34. Roll out (north) next to last taxiway, turn left (west). Taxi straight ahead (west on north side of hangar rows. Turn left (south) at last taxiway. Hangar 2785 is fourth hangar on your left. Directions after landing and parking assistance available on 122.75.

If you want to have a good time with as many as 50 other aircraft (and of course, manyh great pilots and crews) touring to the above sites, I heartily recommend you consider participating in this event.
