This year the Fly-in features not only Van\u2019s Homecoming, but also our 2nd annual STOL EXPO. <\/p>\n

Preliminary schedule of events:<\/p>\n

Friday afternoon, August 17th:
\n\u2022\tArrive and register
\n\u2022\tLunch with our Youth Aviation hosts
\n\u2022\tSet up tent sites or meet your host family for in-home lodging
\n\u2022\tJoin us for a flight-line dinner
\nSaturday, August 18th:
\n\u2022\tPancake Breakfast
\n\u2022\tOver twenty forums on timely subjects; 2017 subjects included:
\no\tGarrmin – ADS-B update
\no\tFAA: Owner performed maintenance
\no\tThe future of electric airplanes
\no\tHow to manage BasicMed
\no\tCompanion Pilot safety forum
\n\u2022\tTour the flight-line with hundreds of airplanes
\n\u2022\tTours of Willamette Valley Vineyards and Breweries
\n\u2022\tTour hangars in the adjacent airpark to see ongoing projects
\n\u2022\tLunch served by the local Boy Scouts
\n\u2022\tBanquet dinner with internationally known speaker
\nSunday, August 19th:
\n\u2022\tFrench toast breakfast
\n\u2022\t2nd Annual STOL EXPO (see details below)
\n\u2022\tLuncheon and STOL EXPO awards ceremony<\/p>\n

Our first STOL EXPO, Sept 2017, attracted 10 STOL aircraft in four different categories. A crowd of 200 showed up to watch them takeoff and land in the shortest distance possible. The winning distance of 152 ft amazed the crowd. Expect more planes and shorter distances this year.<\/p>\n
