Meeting Notes for September 1st, 2010<\/p>\n
The meeting started at 6:00 with our normal BBQ hamburgers and hot
\ndogs, salad, chips and donut holes. Maybe spaghetti next month?<\/p>\n
Meeting called to order at 7:10 PM by President Ben Hallert with V.P.
\nBill Dewey and Sec.\/Tres. Randy Stout present also. The 18 members and
\nguests in attendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief \u201cWhat
\nexciting thing happened this last month\u201d. Among the guests was Fritz
\nthe Powered Parachute guy. Bob Severns spoke about a trip he made with
\nMalcomb Steck to pick up a RV-1.<\/p>\n
The next Chapter 31 breakfast will be held on Saturday, 11th of
\nSeptember. Please remember that Dave Petersen asked for a bit of help
\ncleaning up prior to the event. The YE flying event will also be held
\non September 11. Since this is the 2nd Saturday, we need to remind
\neveryone that breakfast will not be on the 3rd Saturday as the YE
\nevent will also be our monthly breakfast event.<\/p>\n
The Memorial Area plans are progressing. \u00a0As noted before, we received
\na copy of a letter from Paul Ehrhardt, a retired contractor, who has
\noffered to help with this project. He had actually approached the City
\nCouncil a year ago, but nothing came of it. Randy contacted him and he
\nexpressed an interest in furthering this project. Several board
\nmembers and other interested people will meet with him in September to
\nsee how next to proceed.<\/p>\n
Bill Dewey then reminded Dave Eason that the painting on the new patio
\ncover needs to be done ASAP, as the weather will not last forever.
\nDave Eason mentioned he would run this project so he plans on grabbing
\nhis brush and helpers and slapping some stain on this month.<\/p>\n
Daniel Cathy mentioned that Hal Skinner has an older Terra 720 X for
\nsale. It apparently needs a power unit to function again. \u00a0You can
\nreach Hal at 541-746-3387<\/p>\n
Bruce Curtis then asked if anyone had a quart of white poly tone paint
\nhe could purchase. If so, give him a call.<\/p>\n
The Crow Mag airport is having a Fly-In on Saturday the 25th of
\nSeptember at 12:00. Free Hamburger BBQ with a potluck on (sic)side
\ndish and drink. Contact Conrad at 541-729-7498 for info. Drive or Fly
\n(2-1\/2 mile west of Territorial Rd. on Suttle Road)<\/p>\n
A nice report was then made by Gary Ludeke on the just completed OACAC
\nOregon Air Tour. A great time was had by all. The weather changed 50
\ndegrees from one stop to the next, which was only one of the several
\nweather challenges that the group faced. Thanks for the info- I hope
\neveryone can have a chance to go on an air tour in the future.<\/p>\n
President Ben then fired up the new Big Screen TV and gave another
\ndemo on how to log onto the web site and post. We also had a few short
\nvideos and very funny pictures. This is going to be fun!! Bring
\nsomething on DVD, thumb drive or whatever to next months meeting.<\/p>\n
There being no new business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:18 PM .<\/p>\n
