The meeting started at 6:00 with our normal BBQ hamburgers and hot
\ndogs, and happily with Melinda\u2019s famous chili!
\nMeeting called to order at 7:04 PM by President Bill Dewey with
\nSec.\/Tres. Randy Stout on his left side. \u00a0The 14 members and guests in
\nattendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief \u201cWhat exciting
\nthing happened this last month\u201d. Among the guests were John Rowell,
\nAlan Vieder, a 25 year Air Force vet who is building an RV-9A and will
\nbe bringing it up from California in the near future and Brent
\nHennings and his wife, who just purchased a 1958 182.
\nThe next Chapter 31 breakfast will be held on Saturday, 20th of
\nAugust. Make it if you can!.
\nPresident Bill gave a quick Memorial Area plans report. He had Roger
\nWelch speak about John Rowell (Architect), who will be asked to help
\nhim develop the plan for the area and present it to the Creswell City
\nCouncil. They will report back next month.
\nTim Talen at the Ragwood Refactory has been awarded the Silver Lindy
\n(Reserve Grand Champion) for his restoration of the Rearwin Speedster
\n6000C he flew to Oshkosh after a multi-year restoration.
\nCongratulations to him and his helper Jacona!
\nIt was noted that the Jim Wright Memorial Stearman Fly-In will be held
\nagain at Cottage Grove on Fri-Sat-Sun starting August 5th.
\nA reminder by Dave Petersen about the Sept. 10th YE event. That is the
\nSaturday after Labor Day, so put it on your calendar. Dave still needs
\npilots and aircraft. Contact him at EAA31@MSN.com if you can help.
\nBill Dewey donated a DVD on the Stewart system for covering airplanes.
\nThat concluded the business portion of the meeting.<\/p>\n
There being no new business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm and
\nthe movie \u201cThose Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines\u201d resumed
\nfrom where it was stopped before the meeting started.
