Come next<br \/>\nmonth and bring a friend!<br \/>\nMeeting called to order at 7:12 PM by President Bill Dewey with<br \/>\nSec.\/Tres. Randy \u00a0Stout also present. The 24 members and guests in<br \/>\nattendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief \u201cWhat exciting<br \/>\nthing happened this last month\u201d. Guests included Art Acquist, Tom<br \/>\nPreuss, Shelly Humble. Welcome to all!!<br \/>\nGary Ludeke talked about his work that he is doing on Jerry Krause&#8217;s<br \/>\nKolb Firestar.<br \/>\nA request was made at the meeting by Roger Welch\u2019s daughter to have<br \/>\nChapter 31 members donate charity flights for the upcoming Creswell<br \/>\nSchool auction. Due to complications with the FAR&#8217;s it was decided<br \/>\nthat Gary Ludeke would generously give a flight to the auction, in<br \/>\nPresident Bill Dewey&#8217;s generously donated airplane, as he is a CFI and<br \/>\ncan give instruction during that time.<br \/>\nSecretary Stout noted that yearly dues of $25 are due now. Please see<br \/>\nhim after the meeting or you can send them in by mail: \u00a0EAA Chapter<br \/>\n31, 86277 Panorama Rd., Springfield, OR \u00a097478 Thanks to Bill<br \/>\nSkillern, Sid Voorhees and Ben Hallert for renewing at the meeting.<br \/>\nGuest Shelly Humble then spoke about the many things going on at the<br \/>\nCreswell Airport. They include, but aren&#8217;t limited to, asking for part<br \/>\nof the 50 Million connect Oregon grant for an AWOS (non- precision,<br \/>\nlevel 2 need) approach ($200,000) and using the Pavement Maintenance<br \/>\nProgram (Gas Tax Proceeds) and AIP Match (level 3 need) for $183,000<br \/>\nwork of work on the runway (slurry Seal 90%). She spoke about the 9<br \/>\nea. 40&#215;40 box hangars and the 13 conventional T hangars that are<br \/>\nplanned for the west side of the north apron. ($500,000) \u00a0There is<br \/>\n13.3 million available for projects throughout the state, and the<br \/>\nprojects total 13.9 million. She didn&#8217;t talk about the ongoing dispute<br \/>\nwith Urban Moore and the skydivers, as this is now under an<br \/>\nadministrative action with the FAA that requires a formal response.<br \/>\nShe did mention that new skydiving regs should be posted by the FAA by<br \/>\nthe end of the year. Thanks for all the info you could give us!!<br \/>\nPresident Bill commented on the 2 projects we will be tackling this<br \/>\nyear (besides the memorial area) and they are 1) Pressure Wash the<br \/>\nbuilding and 2) replace the Chapter 31 sign on the building. He has<br \/>\nspoken to Shelly and she is waiting on a written plan to take to the<br \/>\ncity for approval.<br \/>\nRusty Bartel is still trying to build the new sign and now may have<br \/>\nthe jpeg he needs. Rusty also suggested that the group paint \u201cEAA #31\u201d<br \/>\non the roof of the clubhouse as identification for pilots who fly<br \/>\nover. Shelly asked that we run the plan through her first before any<br \/>\nwork is done in order to comply with all sign codes.<br \/>\nThe next breakfast is on April 21st. This is the same day, but it will<br \/>\nbe lunchtime not breakfast, that the Oregon Historical Society will be<br \/>\ninducting Henry &#8220;Hank&#8221; Troh into the hall of fame. Their meeting will<br \/>\nbe at the Village Green in Cottage Grove.
