The meeting started at 6:00 with Melinda Petersen\u2019s famous chili, BBQ
\nhamburgers and hot dogs, chips and a drink for only $5 !! Come next

\nMeeting called to order at 7:12 PM by President Bill Dewey with
\nSec.\/Tres. Randy \u00a0Stout also present. The 24 members and guests in
\nattendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief \u201cWhat exciting
\nthing happened this last month\u201d. Guests included Art Acquist, Tom
\nPreuss, Shelly Humble. Welcome to all!!
\nGary Ludeke talked about his work that he is doing on Jerry Krause’s
\nKolb Firestar.
\nA request was made at the meeting by Roger Welch\u2019s daughter to have
\nChapter 31 members donate charity flights for the upcoming Creswell
\nSchool auction. Due to complications with the FAR’s it was decided
\nthat Gary Ludeke would generously give a flight to the auction, in
\nPresident Bill Dewey’s generously donated airplane, as he is a CFI and
\ncan give instruction during that time.
\nSecretary Stout noted that yearly dues of $25 are due now. Please see

\nGuest Shelly Humble then spoke about the many things going on at the
\nCreswell Airport. They include, but aren’t limited to, asking for part
\nof the 50 Million connect Oregon grant for an AWOS (non- precision,
\nlevel 2 need) approach ($200,000) and using the Pavement Maintenance
\nProgram (Gas Tax Proceeds) and AIP Match (level 3 need) for $183,000
\nwork of work on the runway (slurry Seal 90%). She spoke about the 9
\nea. 40×40 box hangars and the 13 conventional T hangars that are
\nplanned for the west side of the north apron. ($500,000) \u00a0There is
\n13.3 million available for projects throughout the state, and the
\nprojects total 13.9 million. She didn’t talk about the ongoing dispute
\nwith Urban Moore and the skydivers, as this is now under an
\nadministrative action with the FAA that requires a formal response.
\nShe did mention that new skydiving regs should be posted by the FAA by
\nthe end of the year. Thanks for all the info you could give us!!
\nPresident Bill commented on the 2 projects we will be tackling this
\nyear (besides the memorial area) and they are 1) Pressure Wash the
\nbuilding and 2) replace the Chapter 31 sign on the building. He has
\nspoken to Shelly and she is waiting on a written plan to take to the
\ncity for approval.
\nRusty Bartel is still trying to build the new sign and now may have
\nthe jpeg he needs. Rusty also suggested that the group paint \u201cEAA #31\u201d
\non the roof of the clubhouse as identification for pilots who fly
\nover. Shelly asked that we run the plan through her first before any
\nwork is done in order to comply with all sign codes.
\nThe next breakfast is on April 21st. This is the same day, but it will
\nbe lunchtime not breakfast, that the Oregon Historical Society will be
\ninducting Henry “Hank” Troh into the hall of fame. Their meeting will
\nbe at the Village Green in Cottage Grove. See if you can attend both!!
\nAlso the next YE event is set for September 8th.
