Meeting Minutes from the 10/5/2022 meeting

Meeting Minutes from the 10/5/2022 meeting.

President Rod Johnson, V.P. Eric Farry and Secretary/ Treasurer Randy Stout as officers were present when the Meeting started at 7:10 PM at the clubhouse in Creswell. There were 16 Members and guests in attendance. Our speaker Dewey Conroy was the guest.

Dinner was prepared by President Rod Johnson, Past President, Pat Dodson, and Bill Dewey and consisted of Burgers, Hot Dogs, leaf salads, Chips, Cookies, and a drink- for $8.00!! Next month we may be having another Costco Casserole, so watch your emails for notice.

President Rod Johnson called the meeting to order. He asked for any old business:

Our Airport Manager, Shelly Humble then gave a report on the progress of the runway rebuild: The Wildish Company completed the paving, and it should open next week. The transformers and lights are on B/O so they will install the old lights until the new ones arrive. The first stage of the markings will be applied next week, with the second stage a month later (which will require a quick closure of the runway) and will add glass beads for reflectiveness. They intend to re-do a lot of the millings (gravel) that they created from the old runway (and placed on the taxiways) and make it much finer and smoother than we see it today.

She also noted that the emergency generators have been installed and are running. They will begin working on a new taxiway on the North area (for future T hangar construction) early next year. In addition will be a new Wastewater treatment project to allow these and other hangars to be plumbed for water. Also, the main hangar has a remodel on the schedule, all of which will be paid for by ARPA and CARISA money. Thanks Shelly!! Good job as always!!

Gary Ludeke then rose to mention that past member Rusty Bartel’s funeral will be on 11/12/2022 at the Creswell Presbyterian Church. Times to be posted later by Gary. He also reminded everyone that his Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award ceremony will be held at the November meeting.

Remember our monthly breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We need members to help make the fixings. Walt Weischedel will bring his eggs and Bill Dewey will check on the rest of the supplies. The next breakfast will be on October 15th at the clubhouse starting at 9:00. Eggs, Bacon, Pancakes and Juice or Coffee for $8- a bargain!! See you there!!

The checkbook balance is now $1435.50

There being no other business, President Johnson introduced our speaker for the evening Dewey Conroy, founder of Pacific Coast Avionics. Dewey gave a great power point presentation of all the new Garmin products, along with some other less expensive options. He handed out catalogs to everyone, and the drooling began. His biggest problem is that they are 6 months out from being able to install your dream panel. We highly recommend him and his company for all your avionics needs, just be a bit patient. Thanks Dewey!

There being no other business the meeting was adjourned by President Johnson at 8:40PM

Respectfully submitted,

Randall Stout, Secretary/ Treasurer
