Meeting Minutes from 1/2/2013 Meeting
The meeting started at 6:00 (Sadly without Melinda Petersen’s famous chili), BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, cookies and a drink for only $5 !! Come next month and bring a friend!
Business meeting called to order at 7:08 PM by President Bill Dewey with Sec./Tres. Randy Stout also present. The 14 members and guests in attendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief “What exciting thing happened this last month”. Walt Weischedel noted that he hung his engine on his RV-12 the last day of the year, and has nearly completed the gear fix from Van’s. Jim Deal has flown off his 40 hours on his RV-9A and both Bruce Curtis and Pat Dodson have begun building Hummelbirds from plans.
Secretary Stout noted that yearly dues of $25 are due now. Please see him after the meeting or you can send them in by mail: EAA Chapter 31, 86277 Panorama Rd., Springfield, OR 97478 Thanks to several people for renewing at the meeting.
President Bill commented on the memorial area. He has spoken to Shelly and she and a group from the city will be working on it and get the plan ready for ground work this spring. President Bill then gave out the awards for chapter service for 2012.
Hal Skinner noted that he is still not getting emails. It was suggested that he check his spam folder, and Ben Hallert will investigate to make sure his name is in correctly.
The next OACAC meeting will be the 19th at Independence Airport. The next breakfast is also on January19th, so have breakfast with us then shoot up to Independence for lunch and the meeting . See if you can attend both!!
Bill Dewey noted that Harry Anderson, the round the world Lancair flyer will be here to give a talk about his trip upon his return this spring. He is currently flying from Creswell to Antarctica.
There being no other business, we began our series of “Homebuilders Corner”. Walt Weischedel got up and showed the group several tools that he has manufactured over the years to help with building his projects. He gave several tips on how to help start bolts, attach washers, drill straight holes using a CD etc. Thanks Walt!
After Walt, Dave Eason got up and showed us a Radio headset holder that he made out of scrap plastic that he found. He asked everyone to coordinate with him any ideas that they have for future HC talks, and to please bring in your special tool, project or tip next month.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:49 pm
