Anyone else that is able to fly kids, please let myself or Shelly know (Pat Dodson, 541-968-3253 or dodsonp1@gmail.com). We also will be needing ground crew to help with parking, helping registration and escorting kids to the planes. Remember, we need to go through the EAA Youth Protection screening that is required.

Minutes from the 6/7/2023 meeting
Meeting Minutes from the 6/7/2023 meeting.
President Rod Johnson, and Secretary/ Treasurer Randy Stout as officers were present when the Meeting started at 7:01 PM at the clubhouse in Creswell. There were 10 Members, and two guests in attendance. Our guests were Keith and Dana Johnson (johnsonkeith1960@gmail.com) Welcome to you both!
President Rod Johnson, and Past President Pat Dodson prepared dinner, which consisted of hamburgers, Hot dogs, salads, Chips, Cookies, and a drink- for $8.00. Thanks guys!
President Rod Johnson called the meeting to order. He asked for any old business: The Wings and Wheels show at Cottage Grove was the first topic. It will be held at Cottage Grove Airport on June 24th.
Shelly Humble then gave her report on the status of the “fixes” that the contractor is still doing on the airport improvements. They will be closing the airport for a day or two (tentatively scheduled for the 19th and 20th) for heavy equipment to access the runway. These fixes include changing the PAPI pad, some vault issues and the lack of a tracer wire on some conduits that were installed.
She then presented the new TOFA and TLFA parking plans that the FAA is requiring us to enforce. Please review the postings at the airport FBO area before you park your car near your hangar. She handed out flyers outlining the plan.
Her next report was on the 4 projects that are in the works for the rest of the year. 1) North Taxi Lane construction. 2) Wastewater Treatment facility on the North of the airport so that tenants can have water and sewer. 3) Installation of Security Cameras and 4) Completing of the Ham Radio base station.
In her final report she asked about the timing of the YE flights that we typically do on July 4th. It was discussed and agreed to keep the July 4th date. With that in mind, she asked for volunteers to help with the flow of kids and parents. It was also agreed to hold a meeting of the pilots and volunteers on July 1st at 10:00 at the clubhouse. Also, Rod Johnson was tasked with getting the insurance from EAA National for the event. Thanks Shelly!
Secretary Stout noted that dues are due for 2023 and had a list of people who have not yet renewed for 2023. We had 12 QB members who renewed last month, which has really helped our cash reserves. If you cannot make it to a meeting, please send your check to: EAA Chapter 31, 86277 Panorama Rd., Springfield, OR 97478
Remember our monthly breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of the month. We need members to help make the fixings. Walt Weischedel is bringing eggs, but Bill Dewey will be gone, so we need Rod to buy any other supplies needed. The next breakfast will be on June 17th at the clubhouse starting at 9:00. Eggs, Bacon, Pancakes and Juice or Coffee for $8- a bargain!! See you there!
The checkbook balance is now $1735.25.
Secretary Stout noted that he has a Garmin AERA 500 GPS for sale. Like Cheap!! Call him if you can use it. It comes with mounting bolts to attach to an instrument panel if wanted.
It was also suggested that we contact Darin Humble about a presentation he made about wiring and techniques for doing so at a 1457 meeting. Hopefully he will do the same for us here on his home field.
John Kuehl then projected The Monthly National Chapter Magazine. He is at johnkuehl@comcast.net
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned by President Johnson at 7:45PM
Respectfully submitted,
Randall Stout, Secretary/ Treasurer

Last reminder, June meeting
EAA chapter 31 meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday June 7th at 7:00 pm.
We will be serving dinner at 6:00pm and the cost is $8.00. The meal will consist of hot dogs, hamburgers, and trimmings and fixings.
On the agenda will be the up coming Young Eagles day and the co-ordination of it. There is a strong possibility that we may be doing the weekend after the 4th of July instead of on the 4th. This will be part of the discussion. We are going to be needing a count of pilots and other volunteers.
