Meeting Minutes from the 8/4/2021 meeting.

President Pat Dodson, V.P. Rod Johnson and Secretary/ Treasurer Randy Stout as officers were present when the Meeting started at 6:57 at the clubhouse in Creswell. There were 13 Members in attendance. The only guest was Shelly Humble who gave the following report:

Runway Rehab – After careful consideration the City will not be asking for the extension at this time but will look to have the justification completed during the Master Plan Update in 2024-2025.

2020 COAR grant – Emergency generator project construction will be staring in the next few weeks.

2021 COAR grant – Will purchase EOC equipment once the Generator project is underway.

Notified  of another  possible grant award to install taxi lanes for new hangars – more when I know.

North end development – City is working with Aqua Resource Design and Consulting to design and install a wastewater system for the airport.

She also noted that Avgas is at $5.35/Gal which barely covers costs and will need to be raised.

Budget was presented to Council on June 14th and there were no objections.  In the budget this year is $100,000 to purchase hangars. EOR

Thanks Shelly as always!

The business portion of the meeting was then called to order.

  * Checkbook balance was $1754.53 as of the date of the meeting.

If you haven’t paid dues yet, its not too late!

Please mail the $25 check to: EAA Chapter31,

86277 Panorama Rd., Springfield, OR 97478 Thanks!!

President Pat asked for volunteers to put on the next dinner. He got several hands and we now have Paul Buhler doing September and Rod Johnson will do October dinners. Thanks guys!!

Past member Doug Kindred noted that the OAHS in Cottage Grove will be holding a Oregon Homebuilt fly-in on Labor Day weekend. This fly in will commemorate the 100th year of licensed aviation in Oregon, as the Oregon Dept of Aviation began on 2/11/1921. The feds took over in 1926 and the first actual rules for homebuilts were adopted in 1951, the same year that the EAA was established.

The new sign for the EAA chapter 31 memorial garden is now up. Gary Ludeke will be asked if he can get another sign to replace the one at the entrance to the driveway, as that sign is in disrepair and not a good representation of the club. The clubhouse also needs pressure washing, but that can wait until fall.

There being no other business, The meeting was then adjourned at 8:05PM

Respectfully submitted,

Randall Stout, Secretary/ Treasurer
