Minutes of the 7/6/2011 Meeting

Meeting Notes for July 6th, 2011

The meeting started at 6:00 with our normal BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, sadly without Melinda’s famous chili! Also salad and chips and some good cookies. Still the best bargain in the area for $4

Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by Sec./Tres. Randy Stout ( President Bill Dewey was on his Canadian trip) The 17 members and guests in attendance then introduced themselves and gave a brief “What exciting thing happened this last month”.

John Wagner, our newest member noted that his is logging tail dragger time up in McMinnville. Brad Chapman noted that he has a friend with a T-18 for sale. 180HP? For $30,000.

The next Chapter 31 breakfast will be held on Saturday, 16th of July, and will host the Luscomb club and some OACAC members.

Since President Bill was gone, there was no Memorial Area plans report.

Tim Talen at the Ragwood Refactory has gotten the 1st airplane shot by the Japanese in Pearl Harbor, an Interstate Cadet, which he will be restoring. As of this writing, he has flown the Rearwin Speedster off his strip after a multi-year restoration. He is on his way to Oshkosh!

Walt Weischedel noted that he has a new Stainless Steel Champ A series exhaust system for sale. Contact him at 541-747-4808

Rusty Bartel asked if anyone knew of a 40x36x40 PVC vault for some work he is doing on his home.

A reminder by Dave Petersen about the Sept. 10th YE event. That is the Saturday after Labor Day, so put it on your calendar.

That concluded the business portion of the meeting.

Dave Petersen then gave a nice demonstration on pop-riveting for the Zenith Ch601 he is building. He set up a camera and fed the live demonstration to the big screen for everyone to see. Very nice! I was impressed that the rivets he used became dome headed when pulled with the specially modified gun that Dave brought. Thanks Dave!!
There being no new business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:18 PM .

Respectfully submitted,

Randall Stout
Secretary/ Treasurer
