May 2016 Meeting Notice MARK YOUR CALENDARS

EAA 31 MARK YOUR CALENDERS
Next Meeting Wed May 4th

We are having very special guests.
“ROSIE THE RIVERTER” group will be sharing their stories.
All these great Gals are in their 90’s now, but during WWII they built airplanes and did all sorts of jobs. They were riveters, welders, drivers, defense department workers, farm workers, plane spotters — and every other job that needed doing while the men were away fighting. Maybe your Grandmother or Great-Grandmother was a Rosie! This would be a good meeting to bring your Wife or Girl Friend (but please not both).
Learn some History and find out what it was like on the home front during WWII. This should be very interesting.

At the South End of Creswell Airport at the EAA31 clubhouse. Invite some people that don’t usually attend our meetings.

Burgers, dogs, salad & drinks 6:00 PM $5.00
Meeting and “ROSIES” 7:00 PM $0.00

Hal and Milo Skinner Memorial Services

President Gary Ludeke asked me to post a brief notice on the upcoming memorial services for EAA Chapter 31 member Hal Skinner and his grandson Milo.
As you probably know, they were both killed in the crash of Hal’s Luscomb 8A on Labor day at the north end of the Creswell Airport.

There will be a memorial service at Eugene Faith Center, 13th and Polk, at 3:00PM on this coming Sunday, 9/13/2015

Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol (Hal’s wife), Carrie (Milo’s wife) and Gene and Pam, and all their extended family. This is a huge loss to the aviation community and the larger community also.

Tables and last minute prep

If you’ve borrowed a table from the club, please bring it back! We are short three and can use every one we can get for this weekend’s event.

Bob S. won’t make it to breakfast, so if you’re up to doing some egg duty, we can use your help!

If the weather is half as nice as today, we should have a fantastic day!

Sunday, October 25th at 1:30-3:00

Invitation to all pilots/family/friends who would like to share memories of Scott Henderson.

The service will have time for everyone to share memories and stories about Scott.  There will be a dedication of memorial benches and a memorial boulder in Scott’s honor.  There will be a fly – by with scattering of some of Scott’s ashes, and a missing man formation flown by fellow Creswell pilots in honor of Scott.

Potluck to immediately follow the service.  The EAA building has a refrigerator and stove so food can be prepared/warmed up on sight.  Please bring your own non-alcoholic beverages, dishes and cups for each family.  Main dishes and desserts to be shared family style at potluck.
